There are 2 main reasons.

We’re not open to the public yet

We have been quietly testing various version of our app over the past 6 months with a very small group of active daters in Miami. We want to make sure that we’re useful, so we’re taking our time to make sure that our users (and the data) shows that we are. We also keep things small so we can ask questions, have lengthy in-person focus groups and this allows us to move more quickly.

We know that the users make the app

The data is clear on this. One of our main differentiators is that we don’t let just anyone on. It’s important to understand that we’re “exclusive” and not “elitist”. More than 50% of the users that have signed up to Shake so far are what we would classify as “low effort” profiles. This means things like putting “jsbdfjbs” as their job title, or just putting blurry pics of their dog.

If we can see from your socials and profile that you’re real and you’ve put in some effort, we’ll likely approve you when we’re open to the public.
